Q'bo Latin Café | Our Story
¿Q'bo? A story rooted in two homelands
Q'bo takes its name from "¿Que Hubo?" — the Caribbean greeting meaning "What's up?" used in both Colombia and Venezuela. Founders Nadia Roberts and Liliana Rojas spelled it phonetically so every guest could say it with authentic flair.
Two countries, one dream
Nadia grew up in Colombia; Liliana in Venezuela — two countries with deep, overlapping culinary traditions and a warmth for how people gather and eat. Together, they brought that spirit to Chicago's Lakeview neighborhood.
Latin coffee culture, brewed from the heart
Q'bo's coffee menu is a love letter to Latin American tradition — Café de Olla with cinnamon and raw sugar cane, a Coquito Latte with homemade steamed coquito milk, a Spanish Mocha built on 100% organic Colombian cocoa. Every cup carries the memory of a morning ritual.
Made from scratch, made with care
Homemade empanadas in flavors like Pabellón (shredded beef, black beans, queso blanco, sweet plantains), handmade corn arepas stuffed to order, sweet crepes with dulce de leche, and Colombian salsas made in-house. Every bite traces back to a real recipe from a real place.
A place to belong
Rattan pendant lights, lush greenery, the scent of fresh coffee — Q'bo is the kind of neighborhood spot where you slow down and linger. Guests leave feeling genuinely welcomed, and that's entirely by design.
